About the Artist - Summer Frost, AAEA - LM
Horses have been a part of Summer's life since birth. Hailing from Mankato, Minnesota, Summer's Grandfather, Cliff Thro, was one of the 10 founding members of the United States Trotting Association. Thro Stables had 3 Hambletonian winners out of the mare Flicka Frost.
Summer shows her equestrian versatility in riding many disciplines from reining, dressage,western dressage, fox hunting and polo, to trail riding. She currently has 10 horses that include Arabians, Dutch Harness,Saddlebred, Morgan,Appaloosa, Ahkal Teke, Kentucky Mountain, Welsh Pony and 10 miniature horses. is Just for fun, Summer is starting a pony ride/birthday party business (Unicorns and Lollipops Pony Rides). Starting in the summer of 2020.
After graduating from Purdue University with Interior Design & Fine Art Degrees, Summer's graduate studies were done at the University of Idaho in Architectural CADD/CAM. She worked on the West Coast for 13 years for Herman Miller, Owens Corning Fiberglass, & Hewlett-Packard.
In 1989, Summer started Summer Frost Equine Designs, an equine graphics and riders' apparel mobile shop for the horse show industry based in Lexington, Kentucky. Traveling both nationally and internationally with her designs, Summer has built an extremely successful business.
During the 2010 World Equestrian Games, Summer brought her years of corporate sales along with 24 years of equine vendor sales to lead the Georgetown Equine Expo. GEE was a multi-faceted 17 day event that featured a nightly Wild West Adventure show, International Singing acts and top notch equine vendor shopping area.
Expansion into sculpting and painting have added to Summer's repertoire of offerings, along with over 600 unique equine designs.

In 2021, Summer was named a Lifetime Member of the American Academy of Equine Art, a very high honor.
